Fruit and vegetable store

Every town but the tiny villages has these. This was one of the bigger ones. We were impressed by this one in Sigueiro today.

Tomatoes in one window. This is what drew our attention to the store as we were walking by.
Apples in the other window.
To the right.
On the left.
In the center.
And beans, pastries, bread, and several kinds of sausage.

  1. “Kanzi” apples, which are featured in your picture, are one of my favorite apples. Since you like apple slices in your muesli, you should give them a try. Also, I noticed a box of De Cecco pasta, a brand out of Italy, that I happen to like. The essentially borderless European Union means that even small towns can have gourmet imported items.

    1. We liked the kanzi apples too. I had not heard of them before but I will look for them now.
