The first course of today’s lunch “menu” (fixed price meal €15). We love the way they do fava beans.

Margarita
On our trip last year we spent a week in A Coruña at Margarita’s Airbnb and became quite friendly with her. We flew into A Coruña this time and arranged to have lunch with her. After we finished our meal she suggested we go to the beach across the street and take a selfie. An interesting thing about Margarita is that when she was younger she was the Spanish woman’s national epee champion.
Rice in Rinlo
Our first night after our first day of walking (yesterday) was in Rinlo, which is known for rice soup with seafood and lobster. We had it last trip here, in 2019, and wanted to have it again. Still good.
It can get a bit messy getting the seafood out of the shell.
Map of our trip
If you go to “Links” on the menu at the top, the first item is a map of our whole trip. On my phone I have to tap the “Menu” button to see the menu.
Selfies along the trail
We’ve only walked for two days but have already seen dozens of amazing coastal views. This place sure is pretty. We’ve also had some rain and wind, well a lot of both. Here are some selfies.
2023 Camino
This camino will be a mix. We will start by walking the Ruta del Cantábrico again. We walked it in 2019 and liked it a lot but we missed a few sections. After that we will walk the rest of the Camino do Mar (not be be confused with the Camino del Mar) which roughly follows the Ruta del Cantábrico but goes on to Ferrol. This part will be entirely new and follow the coast closely. Then we will walk a more popular camino, the Camino Inglés. This will take us into Santiago de Compostela. We will have a few days at the end which we plan to spend in Pontevedra.
Last year we went a month earlier but it was too cold so we are going back to walking in April and May.
