After two days of walking inland, we were glad to be back on the ocean today. It was still a hot and sunny day with no shade, but there was some breeze off the water which really helped. It was low tide while we were walking. We saw a few people here and there down in the tide pools. We assume they were digging for clams. The beaches today were very rocky. I hate to admit it, but we have yet to put our feet in the ocean.
I would have flung off the pack, or rather, wriggled it off, and been tempted to just madly walk into the ocean fully clothed.
You know, we should have. The thing is, the last two days when it was so hot, one day we were totally inland and the next day we were by the sea quite a bit but there were lots and lots of big rocks between us and the water. It wuld have been very tricky getting to the water. I wonder if we’d have done what you suggest if those rocks hadn’t been in the way??
