Charlie. At our lovely stop yesterday at Boadilla we talked with this guy from Brazil (Sao Paulo). He was very enthusiastic about the Camino through France starting at Le Puy. He had walked it and said it was beautiful and the food was great. He wanted us to walk it next year. We ran into him again here in Carrion and he made us promise we would do it next year. We are thinking about it.

There are several Camino routes through France — four main ones. Three of them converge at (or near) St. Jean Pied de Port — they start at Le Puy, Vezelay, and Tours (or Paris, if you go further north from Tours). The fourt route starts at Arles in Provence and joins the others at Puenta de la Reina. The Le Puy route looks to be the shortest and passes through two spectacular sites — Conques and Moissac. Moira and I have explored all the French routes by car (not by following the routes directly, but zig-zaging around to visit the major architectural sites). Yes, the food is great and the scenery/churches stunning. We can show you lots and lots of slides and loan you a book or two.
