Morning salutation

Post by Wynette: We stopped to rest on the bench. She is German. On a surfing trip with her boyfriend and two children. Doing her morning yoga. She said surfing is great all along the Atlantic coasts of France and Spain.

On the trail

There were so many amazing views on the trail today it is hard to pick a few. This was kind of a huge tide pool. Santander it the distance.

Through and Over

Post by Wynette: In a previous post I said “we scrambled through and over some boulders.” I should have said “we literally scrambled through and over.” Charlie snapped this photo before squeezing through the hole. I was too busy worrying how I’d get through that I forgot to take a photo of him squeezing through. Charlie said it wasn’t easy (with pack). I decided to scramble over. That wasn’t easy either, at least for me. I was about half way finished with the hard part when some young pilgrims came flying past me.

Boys and Girls

We had wonderful fried eggs and sesame seed toast at a hip bar/restaurant in Somo, a “laid back surfer town” according to our guide, and just a ferry ride from Santander. These were on the bathroom doors.

Two Days in Santander

Post by Wynette: We ended up with an amazing B&B here in the large city of Santander. It’s named Jardín Secreto which means Secret Garden. We have a little balcony looking out onto the secret garden. All for only 55 euros a night! So… we decided to stay two nights. We really like what we’ve seen so far of Santander. We look forward to spending another day here. Our first two-night stop on this trip.
