We must have passed at least 50 old bathtubs in the fields along this walk. You see them all the time. One house had seven of them laying around. We’re not sure exactly what they are for. Possibly to hold water for the stock to drink? That doesn’t seem quite right. Anyway, here’s another one.



  1. We see the bathtubs in Austria too, usually with a hose which is constantly running, so as to keep the water fresh (that really isn’t wasteful in Austria, as the water is coming from streams that are running downhill anyway). And yes, it is for the stock to drink from.

    • We didn’t see signs of fresh water for the tanks here. It was strange. Wynette
