From Fidenze to Costamezzana, 7 miles. The toe blister didn’t get any worse and it was a short day so lots of time to recover. No WiFi so no photos or album until tomorrow.
Day: March 29, 2017
Iconography
This is the standard VF graphic. The guy is wearing what seems to be a baseball cap rather than a pilgrim style hat. Presumably because of the demands of a icon image. Also he has a cane rather than a staff or hiking pole. The woman is wearing a kerchief, unlikely, we have seen few of them on Caminos. Also she doesn’t have a pack. So, lots of compromises to make a recognizable icon but still not bad, if you ignore all the details.
Gelato Burger
“Gold” Plated Cups
At the restaurant in Fidenza. Kind of an alligator or snakeskin pattern.
Our Hotel in Fidenza
3/28, Tues, Day 5, Fidenza, Rest Day
The album is here.
This was a rest day so Wynette’s blister could rest, orders from the pharmacist. We called the front desk of our hotel to ask about staying another day citing the blister and everyone in the hotel has been asking about it, the front desk clerk, the breakfast lady, the other desk clerk. Her blister is famous.
Fidenza was a fine town to take a day off in. We had two very good meals. The town was quiet and restful despite being pretty large (24,000 people).
