Apparently Hertz does the same thing in Sweden. I’m a bit apprehensive about that (we are renting a car to travel about in the countryside for a week or so), because Europe is on chip-and-pin, while we are still back in the dark ages with chip-and-sign. For one night in a hotel, no big deal, but to rent a car…
Henry, luckily our chip-and-sign card worked OK with the hotel machine. They didn’t require a signature or a PIN. Hope will be same for you with Hertz. They might lose a lot of customers if not. Wynette
