Speaking of graffiti, we saw a lot of crumbling industry with graffiti on it along the canal. On our first Camino in 2013 this sort of thing was everywhere. Today the country is clearly doing much better. Far less graffiti and derelict buildings. Well into recovery. Another sign is lots of kids. People are feeling better about the future.

Charlie- Thank You for all of these recent and thoughtful posts. I really enjoyed reading your takes on concrete and culture and tragedy and mud! Got my mind to thinking this morning-Thanks!
In Vermont- March & April are generally referred to as: “Mud Season” and we would wear what I think they call “wellies” in th UK to walk on dirt roads and around town during those months- but in Vermont the “wellies” are called: “Shit Kickers.” Mud bad enough on dirt roads that cars/trucks could get stuck if you didn’t know how to drive in it. So I’m thinking of you guys when you face mud challenges now & then. I’m off to water at your place shortly. Cool breezy morning this morning here. Continued wonderfulness wishes for your trip! L,H
Hey Hol, thanks so much for watering. Doug stayed at our house last night. Maybe you saw him? We saw a farmer in Wellies yesterday. I’ll start thinking of our boots as shit kickers! Wynette
