Suspension bridge in Portugalete

We walked from Bilbao to Portugalete today along the canal (really a river). At the end we crossed the canal on this unique suspension “ferry”. It takes cars and people over the canal every few minutes and leaves room for ships to pass. Quite amazing.

  1. Boy, talk about thinking outside the box with that suspension ferry. Ingenious idea and probably lots more energy and time efficient than a boat. So far this camino is the one that appeals most to me personally. Beautiful country, intimate settings, good food…
